1. Find Guests
How do you plan to keep your listeners engaged? High quality content comes with a number of factors to ensure you achieve the exact solution you want. This includes excitement, the magnet that would attract your target listeners. Having guests on your show is one such way.
Guests help promote your podcast. You can liken podcasting to a business proposal, where you try to market your brand. In doing so, you have the potential buyer, the agent, and yourself as the brand owner. Listeners are your potential buyers. You came to them with high hopes that they will purchase from you—that they will invest their time and resources on what you believe is good, true, or beautiful.

Either way, that agent creates the connection for you.
Here’s a list of questions you can ask when looking for a podcast guest:
- Is the guest known for something?
- What can he offer to the listeners?
- What is his name, interests, and ideals?
- Does he have relevant successes to promote?
- How much would it cost to have him—talent fee, premiums, etc.?

2. Record Your Show

- Audio mixer (optional)
Think about how you will record your show. Will the guest be joining you in your studio, or will he be talking at a remote island away from you? Plan your schedule ahead of time. Consider how the situation will affect your recorded audio.

- Short introduction of what the show is about
- Guest profile
- Episode highlights

Popular podcast hosts include iTunes, Libsyn, and Blubrry. You can also choose to upload your episodes on a blog host like WordPress.
These hosts allow you to customize your podcast using:
- Cover image
- Relevant categories and tags
- Attractive episode title
There are free and commercial hosts available. Majority of them require you to upload your audio files in MP3 format. Also, take note of the size of the files you upload to save storage space. Host sites also have exciting features, such as listener reviews and podcast statistics.
Once you’ve uploaded your episode to your host site, you would want to have it automatically syndicated or distribute to your listeners. RSS feeds, like FeedBurner, do the work for you. Register your podcast with them to make it easy for your listeners to follow your podcast.
